Our Video Production Work

Why 8 media group?

8 Media Group is a video production company in Washington, DC, and we exist because we kept watching the same thing happen. An organization spends real money on a beautiful video, posts it once, and…..crickets. The problem was never the video. It was that nobody planned for what happens after “final delivery.”

Anyone can create something that looks good. Getting it to resonate, to actually land with the people it was made for, is a different job, and it starts long before the camera does. So we collaborate with you from the first call instead of taking a brief and disappearing. We’ve filmed members of congress and heads of state on Capitol Hill to fully produce an authentic DC commercial campaign for the dating app NeverMissed, and in every one of them the plan for where the video was going existed before the shoot did.

One team, one process, pre-production through delivery. No handoffs, no surprises on shoot day, and a finished piece built to earn its keep long after we’ve wrapped. Create, collaborate, resonate. In that order, and the last one is the only one that counts.

My company hired 8 Media Group to produce a corporate video documenting our story and history. After interviewing and looking at multiple video production firms, it was clear that 8 Media Group was the right choice. Not only did they have the experience and high caliber of video examples, they understood our vision and culture and were able to capture that every step of the way. I found the team very easy to work with and enjoyed the process of learning how a video story comes together. The video shoot was very organized and they did a great job explaining how the shoot would go. They were able to adapt and were welcome to new ideas that our team had during the shoot. It was such a smooth process and they executed a seamless production.

8 Media did a great job capturing both b-roll and photography at a major event my organization held at the Capitol in Washington DC. I continue to get compliments on their footage nearly a year later!

8 Media Group team is simply a delight to work with for video production. They are flexible and finely tuned to the customer's preferences, needs and wants. Mine was a very complex project that required a deeper understanding of what the context was, and an approximate/general idea of what the final product might look like. They guided me throughout with ideas and places to consider as we went along. I am 100% satisfied with the product; I intend to work with them every time there is an opportunity.

This is the second time I have worked with this group for video production. They listened to what I wanted, made suggestions, and guided the process to the end result. They spent time with me to make my videos top-notch. I don't leave many reviews but I have to say that these guys are the BEST. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND them for any video or audio project you might consider. I have never been disappointed and they are always responsive.

The team was extremely responsive, accommodating and professional. They knew exactly what we needed and were able to do their work effectively and with great quality despite the very tight deadline they were given. 10/10 would recommend.

I wish there were 10 stars for 8Media. These guys are awesome! We needed to put together a corporate video, but with the Corona virus, everyone was stuck at home. 8Media worked with us to help record our presenters from their home and also found space to record our studio needs. From the talent they hired for us, to sitting in on all our recording sessions with our customers and partners, our graphic requests, and all of our editing. The end project exceeded our expectations beyond belief. The word "no" was not in their vocabulary, and last minute requests were always answered. We will be using them for all of our future video needs. I can't thank them enough for their hard work and dedication to our project. Can't wait to work with them again!

The video was absolutely amazing, high quality, and the turn around was incredible. The video was so impressive that it made it to my company's marketing department. Will be working with 8 media group for all future needs. Thank you again for the amazing partnership. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for professional media solutions.

FAQS

Nobody likes the it depends answer, so here is the real version. A single shooter day in the DC area runs $800 to $1,400. A full corporate video project, planning through final delivery, typically lands between $3,000 and $5,000 depending on scope. Four things move that number: how many shoot days, how big a crew, how much editing, and how many final deliverables you need. What we will not do is ask for your budget first and then discover your project happens to cost exactly that much. You get a written scope with a fixed number before anyone picks up a camera.

Three phases, but the first one is where projects are won or lost. Pre production is where we lock the message, the interview questions, the shot list, and the venue logistics. All the boring stuff nobody wants to talk about. Then shoot day is mostly execution, which is exactly why our shoots run calm and finish on time. Post is where we cut, color, mix, and deliver. If a crew wants to skip straight to shoot day, that is the moment to worry.

Most corporate and event projects run two to four weeks from shoot to final delivery, and a bigger build with scripting and motion graphics can run closer to a month. Event recaps move a lot faster when you need something out while people still care that the event happened. Documentary and animation take longer, because the story and the script have to exist before production does. Got a hard deadline? Tell us on the first call. We will say straight up whether it is doable instead of finding out together in week three.

Three, included in every project. One ask in return: send your feedback consolidated in one response per round instead of six emails over four days. That is not us being precious, it is genuinely the difference between a fast final cut and a slow one.

We are local to Washington, DC and shoot all over the metro area. Arlington, Alexandria, Tysons, McLean, Reston, Herndon, Falls Church, Bethesda, Silver Spring, Rockville, Gaithersburg, and Frederick. No travel fees, no mileage line item, no surprise charge because we crossed a bridge. We do travel and work outside the DC area as well, and those projects are subject to actual travel costs like mileage, airfare, meals, and lodging.

100 percent, and sometimes you should. A single videographer with a camera is a real option for a real budget. But understand what you are actually buying with a team: somebody directing the interview so your executive does not ramble for nine minutes, somebody on audio so the whole thing is usable, and an editor who turns it into something that holds up in front of your board or your funders. The cheap video is only cheap if you can use it.

We handle it. Almost nobody shows up with a script, they show up with a goal, and turning that goal into interview questions or a written script is literally part of pre production. If you already have a brief or copy you love, even better, we will work from it.

Maybe not, and we will tell you if that is the case. But here is what we keep seeing: RFPs and grant applications now expect video next to the written proposal, and an annual report with video gets watched while a PDF gets skimmed. If the organizations you are competing with are showing up with video and you are still sending a document, that gap is your answer.
