Government Contractor Brand Video: NIKA Solutions

We gave a government services provider something that category rarely gets: a real face, a real voice, and an actual personality. Here is how we built NIKA Solutions a brand story without ever handing anyone a script.

No script, just real questions

“Government services provider” is not a phrase that makes anyone feel much of anything. BUT the people at NIKA genuinely care about the work and the people they do it with, and that does not come through if you hand someone a script and ask them to perform it.

So we did not write one. Pre-production was built around a list of open-ended questions for the CEO and senior leadership, designed to get real answers instead of memorized talking points. From those questions we built a full visual storyboard, pairing each interview topic with specific shots and scenes, so the final video had a clear shape without anyone needing a script to follow. For work like this, having experience with government contractors specifically matters, since the story has to land with both prospective clients and a compliance-conscious internal review.

An eight hour shoot day, CEO to staff

Shoot day ran a full eight hours at NIKA’s headquarters, with the full crew a project like this actually needs: a director running the interviews, a DP crafting the shot, a sound mixer keeping the audio clean, a production assistant keeping the schedule on track, and hair and makeup making sure everyone felt camera ready.

We interviewed the CEO and seven senior executives. Because they were answering real questions instead of reciting lines, the conversations came out natural and genuinely passionate. Between interviews, we shot b-roll of the staff in their element, which ended up doing as much to bring NIKA’s culture to life as any of the sit-down answers.

The videoS

The finished brand story is built to introduce NIKA to a prospective client the way a founder would want to introduce their own company, not the way a proposal document does.

Editing unscripted footage into a real story

Unscripted interviews mean hours of genuine, sometimes unfocused footage, and the real work happens in finding the moments that actually carry the story. We worked through three rounds of revisions with the NIKA team, since the goal was never our take on their company, it was their story told the way they would tell it themselves.

The final deliverables were three separate cuts built for three different jobs: a full eight minute brand story, a sixty second version, and a thirty second cut built for social and presentations.

The result

NIKA Solutions stopped being just another name on a government proposal. The finished brand story gives them a real face and a genuine personality to introduce themselves with, and it is now a working part of how they build trust with prospective clients and compete for contracts.
