Do you want your wedding film to make everybody cry? Make your friends and family watch it over and over again? Do you want your wedding film to be the envy of all your friends who thought they didn’t need a wedding videographer? Follow these 5 easy tips and you will be well on your way

1. Vows and written notes.

All of our wedding films incorporate written vows or notes.  It injects emotion and makes the wedding film uniquely yours. We understand not all ceremonies allow couples to recite their own vows so instead we suggest writing cards to each other. Each of you will then read the cards aloud to the camera after getting ready. This definitely turns the tear jerk factor of your wedding film up to 100!

2. Natural light

Natural light in the prep rooms. Natural sunlight is 100 times more flattering than yellow hotel lights or even worse fluorescent lights. For brides make sure your makeup artist has you positioned in front of a window. Also during details of the prep like lacing/buttoning up the dress we like to position you in front of a window as well. Your photographer will appreciate this as well since the natural sunlight gives you a flattering glow.

3. Portrait Session

Schedule time for a portrait session with just the two of you. This is the moment where we and your photographer look forward to all day. This is the moment where we capture our dramatic WOW shots and your photographer will take the pics that will hang on your wall for decades. This is typically done after all the family shots and bridal party shots have been taken care of. Family portraits are important but time with just the bride and groom is where we make magic!

4. DANCE!

We are looking at you too cool for school grooms! This is YOUR day, nobody will judge you for dancing at your own wedding. We love to incorporate footage of you and your wife having fun on the dance floor. We doubt you want a wedding film with your wife dancing with her brother or cousin the entire time. You paid a lot for the DJ and open bar so put your money to good use!

5. Have Fun!

Have fun and SMILE! Nothing resonates more on camera than being in the moment and enjoying your wedding day. Don’t be afraid to shed a tear during the ceremony, cut a rug on the dance floor, and we’ll be sure you will tear up when you watch your wedding film.
